Mindy (Hartman) Mayol

Congratulations Mindy Mindy (Hartman) Mayol, a Fort Wayne-native and Alumna of both Precious Blood Catholic School and North Side High School, recently defended her dissertation titled, Exploring Sport Motivation and Multi-Dimensional Wellness in NCAA Division II Student-Athletes and received her PhD in Health & Rehabilitation Science through Indiana University. She also holds a BS in Exercise Science and MS in Applied Sport Science from Indiana University. Mayol is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Indianapolis teaching in both the Exercise Science and Public Health Programs and is a Certified Exercise Physiology through the American College of Sports Medicine. A 3rd edition of her textbook, Wellness: The Total Package, focusing on multi-dimensional wellness for emerging adults, will be available in August 2018. Her research line includes studying sport motivation, multi-dimensional wellness, self-compassion and performance self-esteem in collegiate student-athletes and examining hope, optimism, group cohesion, motivation and perceived stress in persons with Parkinson disease who participate in high-intensity exercise programs. Mayol is the daughter of Paul and Marta Hartman of Wolcottvile, Indiana.
