Clairus and Betty Dew
75th Wedding Anniversary Clairus and Elizabeth (Betty) Dew of Ft. Wayne, will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary June 14. Born and reared around Monmouth, Illinois, they met as students at Monmouth College. They married June 14, 1943 at First Presbyterian Church, Davenport, Iowa, when Clairus, who served in the South Pacific, was on military leave. They moved to Ft. Wayne in 1953. They have two children, Sharon (Nils) Stangenes of Chicago, and David (Kathleen) of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Dan Dew of Ft Wayne, and Kirsten Stangenes of Algonquin, IL; and two great-grandchildren, Kai and Sven Stangenes. Grandchildren Kari Stangenes and Matthew Dew are deceased. Clairus retired as head of underwriting at Midwestern United Life Insurance Co. Betty is a retired teacher from Ft. Wayne Communicty Schools.
