Ruth Anne Sprunger and Gloria WilsonTwo prominent Fort Wayne women share birthday. Two well-known Fort Wayne women, who were born within three days of each other, were honored on November 21st, for their 85th birthdays. Gloria Wilson was born on November 20, 1930, in Sturgis, Kentucky, and Ruth Anne Sprunger was born on November 23, 1930, in Bluffton, Ohio. They met in the late 1950’s when Wilson was Assistant Executive Director of Child Care of Allen County and Sprunger was teaching at Study School. Wilson spent a number of years in her former position, while Sprunger became Executive Director of the Mental Health Association (America) in Allen County for 40 years. Wilson was married to the late Carl Wilson and they were the parents of four daughters, all of Fort Wayne: Kathy Carr, Karen Knox, Christy Brown, and Carla Wilson (deceased). Sprunger was married to the late Kenneth Sprunger and they were the parents of one daughter, Kathy Sprunger, of Houston, Texas.
