Amputee support group meets

Northeast Indiana Amputee Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. June 19 at the Parkview Ortho Hospital, entrance 7 on the Parkview Regional Medical Center campus.

Healthy grilling tips offered

Real Men Grill Healthy! cooking event will be 6:30-8 p.m. June 28 at Parkview Field, 1301 Ewing St. Parkview chefs will provide tips and examples of healthy grilling. Cost will be $10.

Parkview Women’s Health classes

Parkview Women's Health Center, 11123 Parkview Plaza Drive, Suite 200, Medical Park 2, entrance 2C on the Parkview Regional Medical Center campus will offer these classes in June: Ask the Dietitian will be 3:30-5 p.m. June 12. The event is free. Exercise and Relaxation Sampler-Experience Qigong will be 6:30-8 p.m. June 14. The event is free for Women's Health Center members and $5 nonmembers. Just a Bump on the Head? Child Safety: Preventing Head Injuries will be 6:30-8 p.m. June 19. Presenter will be Dr. James Dozier, NeuroSpine & Pain Center. Free for members and $5 nonmembers. Experts from Parkview's Safety Store will be on site for helmet fittings and sales. Helmets are $10. Osteoporosis Screening will be 2-4 pm. June 20. Cost will be $5 members and $10 nonmembers. Foot Screenings with Dr. Michael McManus, Ortho NorthEast will be noon-1:30 p.m. June 20. The event is free for members and $5 nonmembers. Foot Screenings with Dr. Dennis Chubinski, Parkview Physicians Group will be 2-4 p.m. June 27. The event is free for members and $5 nonmembers.

Cancer programs

Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center, 11143 Parkview Plaza Drive, entrance 4, will hold these June programs: “Chemotherapy, Biotherapy & You” will be 1-2 p.m. Thursday and June 21 and “Answers from a Cancer Expert” will be 1-3 p.m. June 12 and 26. The programs are free.

Take Reiki training

Certified Level 1 Reiki Training will be 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday at The Catalpa Tree Shops, 13405 Main St., Grabill. Instructor will be Sharon K. Martin, Reiki master-teacher and certified meditation facilitator. Cost is $70.

Managing stress

Bennacht Counseling and Consulting's Saturday Seminar Series will be 9-11:30 a.m. June 23 at the Doermer Family Center for Health Science Education, University of Saint Francis, 2701 Spring St. Topic will be “Managing Habits to Manage Stress.” Presenter will be Susan R. Moeder. Monika Moshref will demonstrate chair yoga postures. Cost is $25 with 20 days advance paid registration and $35 afterward. Parking is free.

CPR Week

This week is CPR Week, and women and their families are urged to learn Hands-Only CPR and share it with five other women. The one-minute video is at www.handsonlycpr.org.

Free CPR Anytime kits will be available to the public 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday at Miller's Merry Manor, 5544 E. State St., and 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hearths of Sycamore, 611 W. County Line Road South.

Alzheimer’s information

The Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter will host “Orientation to Memory Loss” and “Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer's Disease: The Basics” 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at 6324 Constitution Drive. Presenters will discuss the general memory loss that goes with aging and why many individuals are needlessly worrying about havening Alzheimer's when they forget a person's name. Also, an overview of how Alzheimer's affects the brain, causes and risk factors, and information on obtaining a diagnosis will be covered. The program is free, however, registration is requested.

2-mile walk for kidney health

The National Kidney Foundation's 2 Mile Walk will begin with check-in at 9 a.m. June 16 at Headwaters Park West, 333 S. Clinton St.
