The 20th annual Covington Art Fair, featuring work in a variety of media in a wide range of prices, is 10 a.m.-5 p.m. June 23 and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 24 at Covington Plaza, 6410 W. Jefferson Blvd. It's free and parking is abundant. Local artists as well as some from all over the country will sell their art.
How would you like to have your own herb garden for seasoning homemade pizzas? You can, if you stop by the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St.
The conservatory now has an outdoor Summer Sales Garden featuring herbs. You can buy a mini herb garden for $19.95. Aside from the pizza garden, a flavor of France garden and a scented garden will be sold.
Or you can pick and choose from basil, chives, fennel, lavender, lemon balm, lemon verbena, marjoram, mint, oregano, rosemary, sage, scented geranium, sorrel, tarragon and thyme. Specialty herbs and strawberries also will be available.
The Summer Sales Garden will be open during regular business hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday; and noon- 4 p.m. Sunday. It is closed Mondays.
Get a little bling for your wrist and support the world champion Voices of Unity youth choir with this deal through Brighton collectibles, located in Jefferson Pointe shopping center.
As part of the “Brighton Loves Kids Across America” program, a Brighton Swarovski crystal bracelet with a red, white and blue theme is being sold for $48, with 50 percent of the proceeds donated to Voices of Unity.
The choir will make a promotional appearance at 4:30 p.m. June 23 at the Jefferson Pointe fountain.
If you want, you can buy two one for yourself and one for one of the girls in the choir to wear when they compete in the World Choir Games in July in Cincinnati.
The fundraiser is now through July 31. The purchase must be made at the Jefferson Pointe store for Voices of Unity to receive credit.
A new Verizon Wireless authorized dealer store has opened in Waynedale, at the corner of Bluffton and Lower Huntington roads.
Intergalactic Toys, a store that sells entertainment and pop culture collectibles, has moved from one end of the Georgetown Shoppes to the other, tripling its showroom area.
