Andy McClain, who led Indianapolis Brebeuf to the Class 3A state championship game, has been hired as Norwell's baseball coach.

McClain succeeds Kelby Weybright, who retired after 11 seasons, including two state titles and one runnerup finish.

McClain was the head coach at Brebeuf this season and led the team to a 21-8 record and a semistate title. Brebeuf lost to Western in the state title game. McClain has coached 22 years, and previously served as head coach at LaVille and Indianapolis Arlington. He graduated from Martinsville High School and played college baseball at Manchester College, where he started as catcher from 1988 to 1990. McClain will also teach science at the school.
