Boy pulled from pool, dies

A 3-year-old boy died Sunday after he was found at the bottom of a family member’s swimming pool in Defiance County, Ohio.

Defiance County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive child at 10337 Coy Road near Sherwood.

Jayden C. Mitchell was removed from the pool and was attended to by sheriff’s deputies and emergency responders. He was transported to Defiance Regional Hospital, were he was pronounced dead after efforts to revive him failed.

According to his obituary, Jayden was from Cloverdale in Paulding County.

   Funeral services are set for noon Thursday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, 610 Walnut St. in Oakwood. Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
