Ophthalmology Consultants of Fort Wayne plans to build a physicians' office on the Dupont Hospital campus. The new $2 million facility will occupy about 10,000 square feet and will be at 10310 E. Dupont Circle Drive.

This relocation and expansion will add five full-time employees to its existing staff of seven. The business will relocate from its current site at 2512 E. Dupont Road, Suite130, once the new office is completed, according to a news release from Fort Wayne-Allen County Economical Alliance.

The practice specializes in general ophthalmology, cataract surgery, and routine eye care. It also offers LASIK, diagnostics, eyewear and contact lenses.

“This new facility will give us the opportunity to expand our outreach and continued ability to meet the eye health needs of all age groups including the aging baby boomers,” said Douglas Miller, administrator at Ophthalmology Consultants of Fort Wayne, in the news release.

City Council will consider tax abatements on the project July 10 and will make its final decision July 24. Ophthalmology Consultants could save about $301,178 while still paying over $307,262 in local property tax over 10 years, according to the news release.
