FORT WAYNE – A motorcycle rider who was critically injured Thursday afternoon when the cycle went out of control at the railroad tracks near Indian Village has been identified.

Jyuan D. Davis, 31, of Fort Wayne, remained hospitalized in critical condition Friday morning, the Fort Wayne Police Department said in a written statement.

An earlier statement said the motorcycle was going east at a high rate of speed when it hit the tracks in the 2900 block of Nuttman Avenue in southwest Fort Wayne shortly before 2 p.m.

The rider had severe head trauma, the police said.

Police said Davis was not wearing a helmet and that speed has been identified as a contributing factor in the single-vehicle crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the police department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
