The first opportunity for basketball fans to catch a glimpse of the 2012-13 Purdue men's team will be next month and tickets to that event will be available to the public on Monday.
The Boilermakers will be hosting a public scrimmage, which follows an alumni game on Aug. 4 at Mackey Arena.
The alumni game will tip-off at 2 p.m. and will feature former Purdue standouts Brian Cardinal, Tarrance Crump, Carson Cunningham, Keaton Grant, Marcus Green, Matt Kiefer, Chris Kramer, Troy Lewis, Kenneth Lowe, Todd Mitchell, Bobby Riddell, Ryne Smith, David Teague and Mark Wohlford.
Immediately following the alumni game, fans can watch the current Purdue players take part in an intrasquad scrimmage.
This year's Purdue team returns eight letterwinners from last season’s NCAA Tournament team, including reigning Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year D.J. Byrd. The Boilers also feature a consensus top-20 recruiting class, which includes Fort Wayne native Rapheal Davis, to campus this summer.
Tickets for the event are priced at $10 for the lower level (reserved) and $5 for the upper level (general admission). A limited number of free tickets (one per student) will be available to Purdue students in the normal student sections.
Ticket sales began for all John Purdue Club members on June 21. More than 1,200 tickets were sold to JPC members during that short period.
Tickets may be purchased online at purduesports.com, by calling (800) 49-SPORT or in person at the Purdue Athletic Ticket Office.
