Seizure suspected in fatal wreck

Authorities believe a Fort Wayne woman may have had a seizure before she was fatally injured in a crash Saturday, city police said.

Christian Sanders, 35, was driving in the 4900 block of South Anthony Boulevard, near East Pettit Avenue, about 3 p.m. when she crashed into a tree, authorities said.

First responders at the scene suspected that Sanders suffered a seizure before the crash, police said.

Sanders died at Lutheran Hospital about 6:20 p.m. that day from blunt-force injuries she received in the crash, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

Her death was ruled an accident. It was the 22nd traffic fatality in the county this year, the coroner’s office said.
