Purdue will play on the biggest basketball stage that exists in this country this season, as the Boilermakers will travel to New York City for the 2K Sports Classic in November.
Coach Matt Painter and his squad will face Villanova at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 15 in the semifinals of the event, which benefits the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Boilermakers will play either Alabama or Oregon State at MSG on Nov. 16 depending on the results of the semifinal games.
Purdue has tangled with Villanova just once on the hardwood, dropping a 67-50 decision to the Wildcats on Dec. 9, 1995, in Anaheim, Calif. The Boilers are 81-52 all-time against teams that currently comprise the Big East.
