The Allen County SPCA presents Cat Walk Into the Wild Sept. 9 at the Grand Wayne Center, 120 W. Jefferson Blvd. This one-of-a-kind event features area salons who take their talents and transform models into high-energy performance art all for a great cause.
Stylists can get involved or form a team to participate by visiting www.allencountyspcacatwalk.org. The winner of this year's event will receive a $15,000 advertising package from the stations of Indiana News Center.

The Allen County SPCA has welcomed J. Mark Hannon to the staff as the Volunteer Development Manager. He has announced the following for the next opportunities to be trained in the different areas of need for the shelter.
Orientations for the month of August listed below. Note that all orientations begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. on the following Mondays and will last approximately 90 minutes.
Aug. 13 – Any individuals interested in administrative or outreach work
Aug. 20 – Any individuals interested in socializing with the feline population or aiding in the satellite feline adoption centers
Aug. 27 – Any individuals interested in socializing with the canine population or aiding in outreach work
Community organizers have stepped up for the plight of homeless animals with these great events.
Todd Alber Memorial Golf Outing: Aug. 18, Noble Hawk Golf Links. 11 a.m. registration, 11:30 a.m. buffet lunch, 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Proceeds benefit Allen County SPCA and Francine's Mobile Mammography. For more information or to register call Scott at 312-2304.
Low Cost Microchip Event: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 18, Allen County SPCA, 4914 S. Hanna St. $15 each. Proceeds benefit the shelter. Bring proof of spay or neuter.
Wingfest to benefit the Allen County SPCA: 3-9 p.m. Aug. 19, Piere's, 5629 St. Joe Road. All ages welcome.
