INDIANAPOLIS — A small Indianapolis church has faith that two aging professional wrestlers will help it get off the financial ropes.
The century-old Emmanuel Church has seen its congregation dwindle to fewer than three dozen members and needs a new roof and electrical and masonry work.
The Indianapolis Star reports the church will host a professional wrestling match Saturday to raise funds for the work and to expand the church's mission.
Church board of trustees chairwoman Dawn Robertson says bake sales don't bring in enough and churches have to be creative when fundraising.
The match in the church parking lot will pit 50-year-old Tim Replogle, who wrestles as Dick the Bruiser Jr., against 59-year-old Jim Morris. His stage name is Bobo Brazil Jr.
Robertson hopes the event brings in $10,000.
