East Allen County Schools closed Monroeville and Harlan elementary schools. Their plan is not moving forward. And from what I witnessed at “Woodlan Intermediate” school in the Woodlan High School building last spring, the climate for teaching and learning is dismal.
To those people who comment on news stories on Fort Wayne's website: It's one thing to give your opinion but another to use your opinion to make a judgement about those involved. Rude!
On July 16, we attended a tour of 10 gravesites. Lindenwood is a beautiful cemetery, but they need help. There are branches everywhere, and it looks impossible to clean up. Suggestion: Bring out inmates from our jail for a few days to help clean this mess up.
America's sick obsession with warfare has rendered patriotism obscene.
Instead of blaming gun ownership for the Colorado massacre, movies that glorify violence deserve to be reconsidered by the Hollywood moguls. Holmes, assuming the role of the Joker, is a clue. We need more movies that extol goodness, nobility and respect and inspire better role characters than the Joker.
Moral compromise in society is to blame for massacres, such as the recent cinema shootings in Colorado, and sex abuse scandals, such as the one at Penn State. When things such as sex outside of marriage, abortion and homosexual activity become more acceptable, there is moral decay.
Because of this terrible tragedy in Colorado, here comes the Left yelling and screaming that stricter gun laws would have prevented this senseless act. I find it amusing that millions of unborn babies are murdered each year, but no outrage (from the Left) for that senseless act.
