LOWELL — Indiana and Illinois officials will hold hearings to gather public input on three proposed routes for the Illiana Expressway that would link Interstates 65 and 55.

A hearing in Illinois will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday at Peotone High School. A hearing in Indiana will be held 5 p.m. Wednesday at Lowell Middle School. Residents of each state can attend either or both hearings.

The Times of Munster reports continuous PowerPoint presentation on the Illiana Corridor Tier 1 Draft Environmental Impact Statement will run throughout the three-hour hearings. People can provide verbal or written comments.

Transportation officials with both states hope to obtain a final record of decision from the federal government on the proposed expressway early next year.
