United States soccer officials won't discipline soccer goalkeeper Hope Solo for her critical comments on Twitter about analyst and former player Brandi Chastain. They are reportedly privately suggesting she spend time on more important things, like Facebook.

New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow caught a lot of flak from teammates over a shirtless run in the rain at the end of practice Saturday. There was no confirmation that he could actually run on water.

Penn State football coach Bill O'Brien said he is considering changing the Nittany Lions' plain blue-and-white uniforms. One option would be camouflage, since most of the country won't be able to see them for four years anyway.

Mississippi State freshman basketball player Craig Sword was arrested after carrying a BB gun into his dorm on Sunday. Apparently the campus police decided against the other option of telling Sword, “Hey, you can't bring a BB gun into your dorm.”

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton said he supports center Ryan Kalil's promise of a Super Bowl win this season. “(W)e have to back him up 110 percent,” Newton said. The NFL will investigate whether the Panthers' extra 10 percent backing violates the collective bargaining agreement on illogical cliches.
