Woman accused of food stamp fraud

A Fort Wayne woman is accused of bilking the state out of $21,585 in food stamps and child-care benefits.

Investigators believe that Angel L. Fink, 27, of the 2200 block of Barr Street, lied on applications when she said the father of her children did not live with her.

Fink received $2,703 in food stamps and $18,882 in childcare benefits from April 2010 through June 2012, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Welfare officials and childcare officials said Fink wouldn’t have been eligible for the benefits had she disclosed that the man lived with her, court papers said.

The man listed Fink’s address on his unemployment paperwork and other work-related documents.

She was charged Monday with two counts of welfare fraud but had not been arrested.
