A rally in support of religious freedom will take place 10-11:15 a.m. Saturday at the Allen County Courthouse Green, Main and Clinton streets.
The event will be a “peaceful and prayerful rally will celebrate liberty and educate the public regarding what can be done to stop the infringements on our constitutionally protected rights,” a news release said.
Scheduled speakers include:
•U.S. Rep. Marlin Stutzman, who will speak on efforts to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and on the encroachment of government on religious liberty.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was intended to provide affordable, quality health care to all Americans. It has been criticized by a number of groups, including religious institutions that would have to provide health insurance offering sterilization and contraception, including abortion-inducing drugs.
•Dr. Tom McGovern, who will speak on the impact of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act on patients and our doctors.
•Pat Miller, who will speak on winning at the ballot box in November.
