Red-headed sisters to perform Christian country, bluegrass

The Christian country and bluegrass music group Red Roots will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Hamilton Life Center, 4001 Terry Lake Road in Hamilton.

The group is comprised of 21-year-old, red-headed triplets Nika, Nicole and Natalie Taylor, an event news release said.

The Red Roots were nominated in gospel music's 2012 Diamond Awards in categories including Christian Country Group of the Year, Christian Country Album of the Year and Bluegrass Gospel Artist of the Year, the news release said. They have were nominated for Breakthrough Artist Of The Year and Female Group Of The Year awards by the Absolutely Gospel Music Awards.

The preshow fun will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Gerry Ferrell, Ken Sharpenberger and Lynn Syler, all from the Angola area, performing as the 1960s group Peter, Paul & Mary. Doors open at 6 p.m.
