Downtown liquor store robbed at gunpoint

The Journal Gazette

An armed man robbed a liquor store Saturday morning in downtown, Fort Wayne police said.

With a white bandanna covering his face, the man entered the Cap n’ Cork at 1031 Broadway, near West Jefferson Boulevard, and approached an employee, said Jason Anthony, a police spokesman.

The man displayed a gun and demanded money. He fled through the store’s back door with an undisclosed amount of cash, Anthony said.

Officers were sent to the store about 8:15 a.m. A police dog was used to search for the robber without success.

He was described as 35 to 40 years old, 5-foot-10, thin build and black and was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans and white shoes.
