“Stand Up To Cancer” returns for a third time at 8 p.m. Friday on network TV. The live, one-hour star-studded show will air simultaneously and commercial-free on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and various cable channels, including HBO, BIO, E!, Encore, ION Television, Lifetime Movie Network, Logo Starz, TBS, MLB Network, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, Style and VH1.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Joel Gallen are executive producers of the fundraiser-telethon dedicated to wiping out cancer.
With guest appearances by Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Jessica Biel, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Seth Rogen, Emma Stone, Katie Couric, Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Alicia Keys and Tim McGraw, the telecast should bring in a lot of money to help research efforts to eradicate cancer in our lifetime.
“Stand Up To Cancer” previously aired on TV in 2008 and 2010. This time, the program will take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, and will include a celebrity phone/multi-media bank that will allow viewers to interact with participating stars.
Viewers also will be able to donate via text-to-give and at www.standup2cancer.org. One hundred percent of all public donations will go directly to cancer research.
I hope you will support “Stand Up To Cancer's” mission to impact the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of cancers.
