Acting on a tip, drug officers went to the Economy Inn on Lake City Highway and found an active meth lab and the controlled substances Xanax, Methadone and OxyContin in the room, police said in a statement issued Monday.
The statement said Steven DeWayne Stanley, 42, of Warsaw, was attempting to hide a “cooking lab” and himself in the bathroom when officers found him.
He and Carrie Ann Timmons, 35, also of Warsaw, were booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Sunday evening on charges of dealing, delivery and manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of controlled substances and possession of precursors used to make meth.
Drug officers also went to a second Warsaw motel Sunday evening.
A 35-year-old Milford man and a 35-year-old Warsaw woman were held on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana after officers went to a room at the Super 8 Motel on Frontage Road.
Police reported finding pot, needles and a substance that is yet to be tested.
