FORT WAYNE — Fort Wayne police have released an image of one of two men who held up a Chase bank branch Monday morning.
The image captured by a surveillance camera shows the masked robber holding a silver and black handgun in the bank at 6141 N. Clinton St., near East Washington Center Road.
The robber’s clothing is all black except for a black-and-white patch on the sleeve of his jacket. Investigators want to hear from anyone who recognizes the patch or the man.
Also this week, two robbers struck First Federal Savings Bank at 5317 S. Bend Drive, near West Jefferson Boulevard, on Wednesday morning. Later that day, police found the getaway vehicle, a gray Chevrolet Equinox, in an alley near the 4800 block of Hanna Street.
Evidence of the crime was found in the vehicle, police said. No other details were released.
Police said Wednesday’s bank robbery has not been linked to the one committed Monday, but investigators have not ruled out that possibility.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards, and its tipsters can remain anonymous.
