You can tour the city's art scene and not even worry about the high price of gas.
Just jump aboard the Trolley Tour, which moves to Friday night this year for the first time rather than Thursday evening, as in the past.
From 6-10 p.m., trolleys will take people to more than a dozen local galleries. Food will be provided at each stop by local eateries.
Trolleys will circulate in a downtown loop and a southwest loop, with both beginning outside the Museum of Art, 311 E. Main St., and Artlink gallery in the Auer Center for Arts and Culture, 300 E. Main St. You can start the tour at any gallery. By 9:30 p.m., event organizers suggest you start traveling back to where you started the tour.
Along with the Museum of Art and Artlink, galleries on the tours include Lotus Yoga, Wellness & Gallery; Potter's Wife Gallery; RataRt; Castle Gallery; Northside Galleries; Allen County Public Library's Jeffery R. Krull Gallery; First Presbyterian Church Gallery; The Orchard Gallery; University of Saint Francis' School of Creative Arts; B. Mitchel Fine Jewelry; and Ryan Hadley Studio.
Caterers participating include The Oyster Bar; Vanilla Bean Cupcakery; Flanagan's; Club Soda; DeBrand Fine Chocolates; Firefly Coffee House; Nutcracker Sweet Shoppe; Calhoun Street Soups, Salads and Spirits; Chop's; Mad Anthony Brewing Co.; Casa restaurants; and AVI.
People attending can start the evening with the Pre-Party at 5 p.m. at the Orchard Gallery of Fine Art, 6312-A Covington Road. People with Trolley Tour passports also can enjoy an After Party at the art museum, with live music by Sugar Shot and treats from Vanilla Bean.
