Fort Wayne firefighters dealt with two fires Tuesday – one that heavily damaged a detached garage and one at a vacant south-side house.
Firefighters responded at about 3:10 p.m. to 3327 S. Lafayette St., where they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the first floor of an abandoned two-story house. Crews had the fire under control in about 17 minutes, and no injuries were reported, the Fort Wayne Fire Department said in a news release.
The department responded to the second fire at about 10:53 p.m. at 4225 Bowser Ave., where a detached garage was fully involved in fire and smoke. Firefighters had the blaze under control in 12 minutes, the department said. No injuries were reported.
Both fires remain under investigation.
