Fort Wayne Police were at a house in the 2900 block of Weisser Park Avenue before noon Tuesday to investigate a suspicious death.

Police were called at 11:18 a.m. in reference to a "man down." Officers found a young man who appeared to have suffered significant injuries in the back yard of a vacant residence, said FWPD spokesman Sgt. Mark Brooks. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives, representatives of the Allen County Coroner's Office and Allen County Prosecutor's Office were called and arrived to investigate.

More information, including the victim's identity and cause of death, is expected to be released by the coroner's office after an autopsy is performed, Brooks said in a news release.
