Several Allen County Sheriff's deputies were scouring Buckner Park on Wednesday morning to search for a suicidal person. The man or boy ran into the woods after spotting a marked police car at around 9:40 a.m., according to scanner traffic. Police in unmarked vehicles tried to surround the perimeter of the park, 6114 Bass Road, and head inward with the help of K-9s. A woman told police the suicidal person had hunting experience and might climb into a tree or hunker down to avoid detection, but he didn't have a weapon, according to scanner traffic.
