A semi driver was killed after his vehicle rear-ended a second rig stopped in the westbound lane of U.S. 30 near Columbia City west of Fort Wayne. The driver in the crash, which occurred at around 9 a.m. Wednesday, was pronounced dead at the scene at the intersection of U.S. 30 and County Road 300 East, according to a news release from the Whitley County Sheriff's Department. The other driver was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital after complaining of head and chest pain.

The crash caused traffic problems in the area.
