Tires and rims stolen from cars on Auburn dealer's lot

Police are encouraging anyone with information about this crime to call the Auburn Police Department at 1-260-920-3200.

A Crime Stoppers reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the thieves.

The Auburn Police Department is investigating the theft of 12 tires and rims from the Ben Davis Ford car lot located at 400 South Grandstaff Drive The theft occurred sometime between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the police department.

The thieves removed all four tires from three vehicles that were displayed in the parking lot on the north side near the front of the dealership building. Two of the vehicles were 2013 models and one a 2012 model; all vehicles were Ford Edge four-doors. The thieves used bricks to support the vehicles after removing the tires, and lug nuts were left at the scene.

Suspects had to have some type of vehicle or vehicles to transport the stolen items.
