A Warsaw man was charged Wednesday, accused of making meth within 1,000 feet of a school.
A retail store involved in the Meth Watch program reported Oct. 5 that a man identified as Jason L. Finch, 39, had been buying items commonly used to make meth, according to a written statement issued by the Warsaw Police Department.
On Wednesday, police got a tip that Finch was at a home in the 100 block of Boydston Street, which is within blocks of Washington Elementary School and Warsaw Christian School.
Searching the residence, police report finding several active meth labs inside the home. The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab team, which was already in Warsaw, was called to the home to deal with the hazardous materials. The Warsaw Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
Finch was arrested and charged with the precursor charge and dealing in methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school.
