State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett spoke to around 50 students at Homestead High School, fielding questions about his thoughts on the state of education, on Thursday. Bennett was there as part of a ceremony where the Spartans acknowledged their rating as an "A" school, as designated by the state, which was released Wednesday. Bennett, who is running for reelection, said of the Spartans' effort, "It has to do with incredibly high expectations" of the district, parents and students.
