Change should eliminate confusion, boost business

In a move sure to delight motorists and business owners alike, a one-way portion of Ellison Road near West Jefferson Boulevard and Interstate 69 will be converted to two-way traffic at 5 p.m. Friday.

The current traffic pattern made it difficult for motorists on Jefferson to access restaurants, hotels and other businesses along Ellison. The timing of the switch coincides with the Indiana Department of Transportation's widening of U.S. 24 East. Along with the directional change, the Allen County Highway Department widened the quarter-mile stretch of Ellison between Liberty Mills Road and U.S. 24 to include a center turn lane.
