Carroll girls rally for win

Amy Poynter scored 18 points and the Carroll girls basketball team came from behind in the fourth quarter to defeat Huntington North 51-44 in Huntington on Tuesday.

The Vikings led 35-29 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Chargers went on a 22-9 run to cement the victory.

Poynter made 7 of 12 shots and added four assists and three rebounds. Madison Peterson had 16 points.

Huntington’s Allyson Trout had 17 points.

SNIDER 67, COLUMBIA CITY 45: The host Panthers outscored the Eagles 28-7 in the third quarter.

Deja Wimby scored 19 points, Meredith Shipman had 15, while Bryanna Moore added 11.

WARSAW 61, BISHOP LUERS 44: Jennifer Walker-Crawford scored 17 points, Melanie Holladay had 14 and Lindsay Baker 12, as the Tigers won at home. Bishop Luers’ Tashayla Sutorious had 15 points.

ANGOLA 55, WEST NOBLE 37: Claire Grubb scored 14 points – making 5 of 15 shots – for the Hornets in Angola. Kylie Bidlack added 12 points.

CONCORDIA 55, EAST NOBLE 38: Courtney Smith led the Cadets at home with 18 points.

GARRETT 61, CENTRAL NOBLE 29: Brandi Dawson’s 20 points led the Railroaders at home.

BISHOP DWENGER 47, BELLMONT 34: Ally Christman had 21 points for the Saints in Decatur.

FREMONT 60, BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 38: Miranda White scored 16 and Shae Rhonehouse added 15 – and they combined for 22 rebounds – as the Eagles won at home. Blackhawk Christian’s Brittney Chalfant had nine points and nine rebounds.

SOUTHERN WELLS 49, BLACKFORD 27: Sam Rhodes’ 14 points at Poneto led the Raiders to victory. She made 5 of 12 shots and 3 of 5 three-pointers.
