Man, 47, indicted in bank robbery

A federal grand jury indicted a 47-year-old man in connection with the October armed robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank, 3902 S. Clinton St.

Alex R. White, of the 100 block of Creighton Avenue, is accused of using a knife in connection with the robbery.

According to police, White robbed the bank about 3 p.m., approaching the counter and threatening the teller with a knife. Several customers and employees were inside the bank at the time, but no one was injured. He fled through a parking lot and behind a nearby McDonald’s.

In October, Allen County prosecutors charged White in Allen Superior Court for the same robbery. Those charges are pending, according to court records.

White is on parole from the Indiana Department of Correction, where he was serving time for the 2007 armed robbery of a gas station.
