Gas station robbed at gunpoint

MORE ARTICLES

The robber’s handgun looked real. His mustache? Not so much.

That’s what a clerk at a Shell gas station reported to police Saturday night after a man with a mustache, apparently drawn on with a marker, held up the business at 1051 Coliseum Blvd. E., near Parnell Avenue.

The man approached the clerk, displayed the gun and demanded money before grabbing an undisclosed amount of cash and fleeing north, said officer Chris Felton, a Fort Wayne police spokesman.

Police were sent to the business about 10:45 p.m. No injuries were reported. Aided by a police dog, officers searched for the robber without success, Felton said.

The robber was described as an older, light-skinned black man who stood about 5-foot-10 and wore a blue hat and an orange coat. No arrests have been made, Felton said.
