On the heels of the top two rebounding games in the Mid-American Conference this season, Ball State men's basketball player Majok Majok was selected Monday as the MAC West Division Co-Player of the Week.
Majok averaged 13.5 points and 16.5 rebounds per game last week in Ball State's wins over Holy Cross (Ind.) and South Dakota. He shares this week's honor with Toledo's Rian Pearson.
A junior transfer from Midland College, Majok matched his Ball State career high with 18 points and pulled down a career-best 17 rebounds in Wednesday's win over Holy Cross (Ind.). He became the first Ball State player in 10 years with at least 18 points and at least 17 boards in the same game.
He grabbed 16 more rebounds and scored nine points in Saturday's victory over South Dakota. For the week, he also handed out three assists and blocked three shots while hitting 69.2 percent of his attempts from the floor.
He now owns three double-doubles on the year and is averaging a double double for the season at 13.1 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. He leads the league in rebounding and double doubles, while his average on the boards ranks 13th in the nation.
Majok is the second Cardinal in the first month of the season to be named MAC West Division Player of the Week. Teammate Jesse Berry took home the award after the season's opening week.
