SMOOTH SOUNDS: Ease into the holiday weekend with the musical stylings of Dan Heath & Co. from 7 to 9 p.m. at Triangle Park, 3010 Trier Road.
Heath, a judge in Allen Superior Court, also can hold court with the best of local musicians. The tunes range from Sinatra to light jazz and easy listening.
He'll be playing in the bar, so you must be age 21 or older to enter. No cover charge.
GO FOR A SPIN: Or a graceful jump. Or just enjoy gliding over the ice with family or friends at the Headwaters Park skating rink, which is located under the pavilion on Clinton Street just north of Superior Street.
Holiday hours begin Friday and continue through Jan. 5. During those days, the rink is open noon-10 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sundays. However, the rink closes at 6 p.m. Monday, which is Christmas Eve, and will be closed all day Tuesday, Christmas Day.
Admission is $5, ages 14 and older, and $3, ages 13 and younger. Cost is $2 if you need to rent skates.
Each Wednesday, children ages 13 and younger skate free courtesy of grants from the Lupke and Auer foundations. The skate rental fee still applies if they don't have their own skates.

HOLIDAY GIFT: Local musicians Mike Conley, Hannah Bushong, Unlikely Alibi, The Freak Brothers and Sunny Taylor perform some of their favorite Christmas music during a concert for the community at 6 p.m. at C2G Music Hall, 323 W. Baker St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
The performance is a gift for the community. Admission is $5 per person and a canned-food item that will be donated to Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana.

GET IN THE GROOVE: Cold weather is moving in, so bundle up and go sliding at the toboggan run at Pokagon State Park near Angola.
The toboggan run has special holiday break hours: 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day. It will be open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Wednesday through Dec. 29 and Jan. 2-5; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 30; 10 a.m.-10 p.m. New Year's Eve; and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. New Year's Day and Jan. 6.
Toboggan rental is $12 per sled per hour, with a maximum of four people per toboggan. A driver's license is required as a deposit. Park admission is $5 for in-state vehicles and $7 for out-of-state vehicles.

BRASS BASH: Enjoy the resounding joy of one of the biggest brass instruments during a Tuba Christmas Concert at 2 p.m. at Glenbrook Square, 4201 Coldwater Road, on the upper level near the elevator. The concert is part of the live music the mall has offered during the holiday shopping season.
