Authorities have arrested a sex offender accused of failing to appear for an annual photo and registry update required by Indiana law, according to the Steuben County Sheriff's Department.

An arrest warrant for Cecil A. Marten, 48, was issued Tuesday in Steuben County, and the sheriff's department issued a statement seeking tips from the public on his whereabouts.

Just after 5:30 p.m., officers found Marten at a home in Medaryville in northwest Indiana and arrested him without incident, the sheriff's department said.

He was booked into the Pulaski County Jail on a local felony charge of failure to register as an offender. He also has an outstanding felony warrant in Steuben County for failing to register as an offender.
