The Allen County Sheriff's Department is seeking information about an armed robbery that occurred at about 8:31 p.m. Friday at Walgreens, 5435 E. Dupont Road.

A woman in her early 20s entered the store and approached the checkout counter with an item. When the cashier scanned the item, the woman demanded money and pointed a black handgun at the cashier. After the cashier unsuccessfully tried to open the register, the woman turned to a customer behind her and demanded her purse while pointing the gun at her. The victim gave up her purse and the robber fled the store. The purse contained an undisclosed amount of cash along with several credit cards.

The woman is described as white, 5 feet, 3 inches tall, with brunette or blond hair. She was wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt, black yoga pants and white tennis shoes. She also had either a lip or eyebrow piercing and a lot of eye makeup.
