New Haven police have released the name of the semi driver in a fiery, six-vehicle wreck near New Haven a week ago that killed two women and injured seven other people.

The driver of the truck is Scott A. Saunders, 50, of Kenosha, Wis., police said.

Police say five cars and a semi were involved in a crash at 10:48 a.m. Jan. 8 at U.S. 30 and Doyle Road, east of Interstate 469. When New Haven Police arrived, they found one vehicle totally engulfed in flames in a ditch. The semi also was in the ditch, and four other vehicles were heavily damaged, police said in a statement.

Suzanne K. Stephenson, 65, of Monroeville, and 43-year-old Sandra Dealey, of Convoy, Ohio, died at the scene, according to the Allen County Coroner's Office. Two people were badly injured, and five more were taken to the hospital.

No one else was riding with Stephenson or Dealey, and both women were wearing their seat belts, the coroner's office said Wednesday in a statement.
