A DeKalb County man allegedly ran a marijuana-dealing operation in his home, Butler Police said.

Jack L. Porter, 47, of the 300 block of North Park Lane, faces three felony charges and two misdemeanors related to the possession and sale of drugs after Butler police spotted marijuana while investigating a separate domestic dispute at Porter's home, Chief James Nichols said in a news release.

Police responded to the domestic dispute at about 3:10 p.m. Wednesday. While at the home, officers saw what they believed to be a marijuana cigarette in plain view, the release said.

After obtaining a search warrant, DeKalb County police allegedly uncovered an operation that included lighting, timers and other paraphernalia used in growing and selling marijuana.

Porter is charged with three felonies: Possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a dangerous, violent felon and maintaining a common nuisance. He also faces two lesser charges, including a misdemeanor charge of dealing marijuana.

No previous felonies are listed under the name Jack L. Porter in DeKalb County's online court records.
