A 39-year-old woman from rural Angola was arrested Monday night by Indiana State Police troopers after they say she was in a broken-down vehicle on the side of Interstate 69, intoxicated and in possession of methamphetamine.

According to Trooper James Bailey, at around 7:05 p.m., he was dispatched to the area of the 325.5 mile marker on northbound I-69 in DeKalb County to assist a motorist who had been reported to have vehicle trouble.

Rachael A. Reamer of rural Angola allegedly had a blood-alcohol content of 0.12 percent, and police found several hypodermic needles inside a satchel in the car, including one with a liquid that police said was later identified as methamphetamine.

Reamer was incarcerated in the DeKalb County Jail on the following preliminary charges:

• Operating while intoxicated per se, Class C misdemeanor

• Operating while Intoxicated .08-.14 percent, Class C misdemeanor

• Possession of paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor

• Maintaining a common nuisance, Class D felony

• Possession of methamphetamine, Class D felony

• Possession of a hypodermic needle, Class D felony

According to the news release, Bailey reported finding Reamer sitting in the driver's seat of a 2000 Saturn passenger car that had a flat tire. Bailey allegedly smelled alcohol on Reamer's breath, according to a news release. He summoned Trooper Justin Snyder, who began to inventory Reamer's vehicle as it was being impounded while Bailey took Reamer to the DeKalb County Jail.

During the inventory, Snyder allegedly found the needles and other items associated with drug use, according to the release.
