Indiana guard Victor Oladipo once again displayed his player-of-the-year potential. He totaled a career-high 26 points along with eight rebounds and two steals in Sunday's 81-68 win at No. 10 Ohio State. Here are some of his comments.
We learned a lot. We learned a lot about ourselves and where we're at. The things we need to accomplish for us to win. We did a great job of applying that to this game. We have to keep doing it.
It's big, but it's a long season. There are a lot of big games down the road. We have a lot of things we need to work on. I really don't think we've scratched the surface of how good we can be. We have to take this game, see what we did wrong and apply it to the next game. So it will help us (down the road).
We know each other's tendencies. I know where Cody likes the ball. Where he can find me if I cut. We complement each other very well. We have to bring it on both ends of the floor. That's why we play so well together, because we push the defense and establish Cody and Christian inside.
It was definitely inspiring. Coach Crean telling us what we had to do and where we're at. My teammates did a great job in practice. Focusing on what we had to do in order to win.
Our goals are to win, win at a high level. Not being satisfied with winning certain game. Keep going throughout the year, keep getting big wins throughout the year. We want to be the last one standing.
It tells us that we're growing. We're learning from our mistakes and applying it to the next game. If we keep growing inside of games, we don't have to lose the rest of the year keep playing for each other.
It's fun. What else would you dream of? Where else would you rather be? We have to continue to keep playing. That bulls-eye was on our backs even when we weren't No.1. Keep playing with a chip on our shoulders.
