Two cats died in a house fire Tuesday morning on Fort Wayne’s east side, the fire department said.

Fire crews were dispatched to 3317 Felician St. at 9:15 a.m., and they found heavy flames and smoke coming from the first floor.

Crews entered the two-story house, near East Pontiac Street and Wayne Trace, and brought the fire under control in eight minutes, the department said.

The first floor received heavy fire damage, and the rest of the home sustained moderate water and smoke damage, the department said.

No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation.
