Letter to the editor: Let's dredge rivers

First spend some money to clean and dredge the rivers.

Maumee mainly needs to flow faster. There is a creek off St. Joe River by Leo that flows east and stops.

Spend money and tie it into the Black Creek off the Maumee River by Woodburn, and they may need to add a small dam by the Maumee for any overflow. But water can be drastically reduced into flooding Fort Wayne.

Dredging the Maumee starting at Ohio depth is more important than width. The Ohio governor should have an interest in spending money as too much flooding in Ohio from St. Marys River is costly to Ohio.

Besides this, maybe they even need to dredge the Maumee in Ohio. The water simply does not flow properly. The ditch tie-in may be the best of all things to do.

Trier Ditch widening was started and stopped 20 years ago.
