Got a problem? Take it to the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

That's what a man did at around noon Saturday, when he brought a hand grenade to Fire Station No. 13, 6727 N. Clinton St.

He said that he had been working with other members of his family, cleaning items out of his father-in-law's home. Inside a locked and secure cabinet, they found what appeared to be a grenade. Police verified that it was a grenade. The container that held the grenade was dated 1944, but police could not say how old it actually was.

The grenade was turned over to an officer trained in explosive ordnance disposal.
