After pouring in a season high 34 points in one game, then leading a furious second-half comeback to clinch a share of the Crossroads League regular-season championship, Saint Francis guard Kayla Drake was recognized as the conference Player of the Week in women's basketball on Monday.

The Kokomo High School graduate averaged 26.5 points per game in two Cougar wins at Marian and over Mount Vernon Nazarene.

She posted her first career double-double at Marian with 34 points and 11 rebounds.

Against Mount Vernon Nazarene, she scored 14 of her 19 points in the second half to help Saint Francis to a 66-58 win after her team trailed by seven at halftime.

This is the second time in two years at Saint Francis that Drake has been selected for the honor.

In addition to the weekly honor, Drake was also named to the All-Crossroads League first-team after she led the conference in steals per game (3.3) and total steals (99).

Drake holds five NAIA Top 50 (Div. II) rankings – No. 3 in steals, No. 7 in steals per game, No. 19 in points scored (481), No. 25 in free-throw percentage (.818) and No. 40 in points per game (16.0).

She finished No. 3 in CL scoring, No. 2 in league-play-only points per game (17.5). Drake has scored in double figures in 23 of 30 games.
