A pair of Indiana Tech women's basketball players were recently honored by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference for their strong play this past season.

Rachael Kruse and Ulyssia Richmond each received First Team All-Conference recognition.

In her first season with the team, Kruse started all 30 games for the Warriors and quickly became one of the conference's biggest playmakers.

The 5-foot-7 junior guard from Homestead High School led the team in scoring (16.8) and steals (48), and ranked second in rebounds (151), assists (99), and blocks (16).

Kruse also ranked in the top five in the WHAC with her 16.8 points per game, and has recorded eleven 20-plus point games, including a season-high 31 in a victory over Lourdes University.

Richmond earned her second piece of WHAC hardware after being selected to the WHAC All-Newcomer Team as a freshman.

The 5-foot-9 junior guard was an explosive offensive player and became the latest Warrior to reach the 1,000 career point milestone earlier this year.

Richmond averaged 16.1 points per game, and has hit a career-high 58 three-pointers this season. She set a new career-high with 27 points in Indiana Tech's upset victory over Madonna University on Nov. 17.

Also honored was Warrior senior Bryn Schlatter, who was named to the Champions of Character Team for best representing the five core values of the NAIA's Champions of Character initiative – integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

The Warriors had three student-athletes named to the WHAC All-Academic Team.

Sabine Filippovica, Kendall Guthrie, and Schlatter each were honored for their work in the classroom after achieving a 3.25 or better GPA as a junior or above in academic standing.

Indiana Tech finished the season at 13-18 overall and 11-11 in WHAC play under first-year coach Jessie Biggs.
