FORT WAYNE – The National Weather Service in northern Indiana says a winter storm is expected to move into the region Tuesday, bringing the threat of ice, freezing rain and sleet, as well as snow.

As of 5 a.m. Monday, it said that freezing rain and some snow is likely along and east of Interstate 69, and that ice accumulations up to one-quarter inch are possible.

The weather service also said it appears that heavy snow is possible west of Interstate 69, with accumulations of 3 to 7 inches.

However, the weather service said that the “exact locations of heavy snowfall and ice accumulations are still in question and subject to change.” It advised prepping for a storm.

A winter storm watch remains in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.
